BIOGRAPHY

I hold a PhD from Liverpool John Moores University and teach on the first-year undergraduate module ‘Critical Keywords’. I am a member of the International Association for the Study of Scottish Literatures and also the British Association for Romantic Studies. My research focusses upon Scottish Highland identity, the diaspora of Highland people, and the dissemination of Highland culture as presented in the work of the early-nineteenth century Scottish writer Anne MacVicar Grant (1755-1838). My recent open access journal article is titled ‘Echoes of Albany: The Transatlantic Reflections of Anne Grant in Memoirs of an American Lady’.
