I joined Liverpool John Moores University in March 2026 as a Research Fellow. I completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University from 2013 to 2016 and then completed an MSc in Clinical Cognitive Neuroscience at Sheffield Hallam University from 2016 to 2018. I began working at the University of Manchester Clinical Trials Unit in 2018 as a Clinical Trial Data Manager, where I primarily worked on multi-centre oncology and psychiatry trials.

I began a PhD at the University of Manchester in 2021 in Biosocial Sciences in the Soc-B Centre for Biosocial Research, funded by the ESRC and the BBSRC. My PhD research examined the role of racial discrimination in substance use outcomes for minoritised racial and ethnic groups living in the UK and the US. 

My role as a Research Fellow at LJMU is focused on an NIHR-funded pilot randomised-controlled trial titled "The Illicit Project UK", which seeks to pilot the implementation of a substance use prevention programme (The Illicit Project UK) for older adolescents in UK secondary schools. 

I also continue to pursue research into racial and ethnic disparities in substance use and the impact of racism on health behaviours and psychological functioning.
