Dr Xinpu (Peter) Wang is a Lecturer in Sport Business at Liverpool John Moores University, having joined the University in 2026. He holds a B.Ed (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Science from Shenyang Sport University, China, an MSc in Sport and Recreation Business Management from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD from Loughborough University. His doctoral research explored transnational football fandom and the global consumption of sport.

Peter's teaching and research interests lie at the intersection of sport business, sport management, marketing, and the social and cultural dimensions of sport. Prior to joining LJMU, he gained extensive higher education teaching experience across a range of sport management and business-related subjects, including sport marketing, international sport business, global marketing, and event management.

He is passionate about creating engaging learning environments that connect academic theory with contemporary industry developments and the real-world challenges facing the global sport sector. His broader research interests include sport consumer culture, fandom, globalisation, digital engagement, and the international development of sport.

Having studied, taught, and conducted research in both the UK and Asia, Peter brings an international perspective to his teaching and scholarship. He welcomes opportunities for research collaboration, industry engagement, and partnerships that contribute to the development of sport business education and practice.
