BIOGRAPHY

Adam is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Education, predominantly teaching across the BA (Hons) Education and Primary Studies and BA (Hons) Education and SEN programmes. With over 20 years of experience working across a range of educational settings, particularly within primary schools and further education, Adam brings practical knowledge and experience to his teaching. His previous roles have included supporting and encouraging primary school teachers to develop their confidence and competence in teaching physical education, an area he remains particularly passionate about.

Adam has a particular interest in children’s physical wellbeing and is passionate about the role of movement and physical education within schools. He is especially interested in supporting children and young people who may find physical education, movement and sport challenging, and in exploring ways to make these experiences more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable.

Adam has extensive knowledge and experience within Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND), with a strong focus on inclusive practice and ensuring that all children and young people are supported to participate, engage and thrive within educational settings.

His research interests include physical and mental wellbeing within schools, autism and inclusive sport, particularly exploring how schools and educational settings can create more inclusive opportunities for children and young people to participate in movement and physical activity.
