I took up my current position as a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science and Pre-Hospital Care in June 2016 with Liverpool John Moores University. I am involved in the delivery of lectures with regards to all aspects of the Paramedic programme as well as the teaching of clinical skills. I am the Module lead for two Level 4 Modules (Anatomy and Physiology based) I am also the module lead for a Level 5 Module (Pathophysiology) and I am the programme lead for the MSc Paramedcine. I am also involved in the delivery of Level 6 modules. After working in the health service for over 20 years I felt it was the right time move into education on a full-time basis after completing my BSc (Hons) in 2014. My thirst for knowledge did not dwindle and I graduated in 2016 with an MSc (with distinction) in Advanced Clinical Practice. I graduated in 2017 with a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, and in 2019 I graduated with a Non-Medical Prescribing post-graduate qualification with Distinction. I will be submitting my PhD thesis in August 2026, entitled "How do paramedic students who have a low Sense of Coherence (SoC) score, cope with the realities of paramedic practice?" My research looked at how undergraduate paramedic students who identify as suffering from Anxiety and Depression, actually deal with their programme of study and the sometimes harsh realities of front-line paramedic practice.
