Dr Áine MacDermott is a Reader in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Liverpool John Moores University. She leads the Cyber Security and Resilient Systems Research Group and is a member of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Research Institute (AIDTRI). She teaches on the Cyber Security and Digital Forensics programmes and conducts research in digital forensics, cyber security, deepfake forensics, misinformation, and the security of emerging technologies. Her work involves close collaboration with academic, industry, and law enforcement partners to develop practical forensic solutions and improve understanding of the challenges posed by synthetic media and digital threats.
